I made some simple pulled chicken in my slow cooker and it’s almost done. I’m sure lots of opponauts have made something like this a million times, but if you haven’t here’s a simple recipe. Take a pound or two of chicken parts (boneless breasts or thighs work best), add a can of Ro-tel tomatoes with juice, a packet of taco seasoning, and a cup of broth and put it all in a slow cooker for 5-6 hours on low or 3 hours on high. You can add lots of cool stuff to it like black or pinto beans, Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, corn, whatever. I didn’t add any of that this time but I did add a bunch of Chipotle flavored Tabasco sauce. Now I’m just waiting for my partner to get home so we can eat. What are you all having for dinner?

There is no way you could be more wrong. All meats are taco meats.

You know what tastes good in chicken tacos? Potatoes. Or Spanish rice. Or potatoes AND Spanish rice. And guacamole.

I'm all for turning all the things into tacos.

Pues, si no puedes comprarlos, hazlos Ud. mismo. Tortillas de arena no son tan difícil para hacer. Un poco de arena, un poco de manteca y sal y agua, y es todo.

Pero los de maíz? Pues, creo que no puedes encontrar la masa en Europa para hacerlos.

Y ahora quiero tacos *Y* flautas. Jajaja.

Um, HELL NO!

Soy Tejana! Y orgulloso de ser. I’m a Texan, and proud of it. California can bite me.

Don’t have a cow, man. I’ve just never heard of anyone outside of SoCal putting spuds on a taco.

Not having a cow, dude. Just stating fact. Texas is the greatest country on earth. ^_^

And potatoes are cheap and plentiful, making them a perfect filler for tacos. As is rice. And beans. A little goes a long way. We Latinos are resourceful that way, and that resourcefulness isn't limited to Calimex cuisine. Tex-Mex is equally colorful and varied.

Also, man , I’m a woman, as indicated by the female noun ending of “a” in “Tejana” versus the male noun ending of “Tejano.”

My wife made dinner because I haven’t been feeling well

Apple chicken sausages with a cucumber avocado salad, garden salad, and baked potato. Mmmmmm.

Oh, sorry, I can barely understand Spanish. I probably should have picked up more of it growing up in Florida, but I’m just far enough north that it’s not a daily requirement. We stick to pork, fish, and beans in our tacos over here.

You are correct, sir.

Matter of fact, you could fold just about anything in a corn tortilla and I'd give it a try

Heh. If you can eat it, you can make a taco out of it. I’ve even had peanut butter tacos: a hot flour tortilla slathered with peanut butter.

One of my favorite snacks are avocado tacos. Warmed, soft corn tortillas, mashed avocado, a little salt and some lime juice. Maybe a little garlic powder and cilantro if I’m feeling fancy.

Seriously, if you can eat it, you can put it in a taco. :D
